Grundsätzlich kann der Film nur so gut werden, wie das Quellmaterial es zuläßt.

Hier mal einige Einstellungen für TMPGEnc. SVCD:

Settings - Video:
- Stream Type: MPEG2 Video
- Size: 480x576
- Aspect Ratio: Je nach Ausgangsformat
- Franerate: 25 fps
- Rate control mode: 2pass variable Bitrate
-Settings: max. Bitrate 2472
min. Bitrate 1022
average Bitrate: Hierfür gibt es bei chip.de einen SVCD-Rechner
- Video Format : PAL
- DC component precision : 10
- Motion search precision : High Quality slow

Settings - Advanced:
- Video source Type : Interlace
- Field Order so lassen
- Source Aspect Ratio : Format des Filmes
- Video arrange mode : Full Screen (keep aspect ratio)
- Noise Reduction : 20,1,20
- Sharpen Edge : 35,35

Settings - Audio:
- Stream Type: MPEG-1 AudioLayer II
- Channel Mode: Joint Stereo
- Bitrate: 128

Settings - System:
- Type: MPEG2 Super Video CD
